Substitute for Sweetened Condensed Milk

I needed sweetened condensed milk today for a recipe. I was in a hurry and did not want to waste time going to the store (and spending a buck). So I found this great substitute recipe. It worked out really well!

SWEETENED CONDENSED MILK (SUBSTITUTE)

1 c. instant non fat dry milk
2/3 c. sugar
1/3 c. boiling water
3 tbsp. melted butter

Combine all ingredients in blender and blend until smooth. Store in refrigerator. Equal to 1 (14 oz.) can Eagle Brand milk.
Now why did I need sweetened condensed milk? To make the perfect PMS treat! See the recipe here.

Safety note. Do NOT combine the water and butter and put into the microwave for 60+ seconds to make it boil. I repeat. Do NOT do it. It will explode, thereby making the microwave door fly open and coating the microwave, counter, and floor with a thin layer of buttery goodness. Not that I'd know about this... ;)
