/s/ vocabulary for 3rd graders

I came across an incredible resource last spring: Flocabulary (no, I am not endorsed by this site at all but if they contact me, I'd be happy to test out all of their products!). At the time, they had free lists of key vocabulary that children at each grade level should learn--a sample can be found here. The website sells printed and digital instructional materials to help children learn vocabulary through rap music, workbooks, and videos.

I used the free vocabulary lists to design articulation sentences for several grade levels.

The following is a printable list of my /s/ vocabulary sentences I plan on using with 3rd grade level students who struggle with articulation and/or vocabulary:

My summer vacation (mad libs style)

My summer was ___(adj)___. I did lots of ___(adj)___stuff.   My family went on __(plural noun)__ to the West Coast and East Coast. We went in an airplane, train and even by __(noun). We saw lots of __(plural noun)__.

All __(number)__ of us even went camping for __(number)__ days and got really __(adj)__. While camping, I taught Marvel Girl how to ride a __(vehicle)__.

I learned how to crochet a __(clothing item)__; unfortunately, it has been over __(number)__ degrees and we are way too __(adj)__!  I also learned how to __(nationality)__ braid Marvel Girl's hair; unfortunately, she got it cut __(adjective)__ just in time for Kindergarten to begin.






I painted my bedroom __(color)__ and kitchen cabinets __(color)__. The bedroom smelled funny for more than __(number)__ days!

We had our shed lock __(past tense verb)__. But the __(adj)__ thief didn't  __(verb)__ anything.

 Finally, Pooh Bear and the rest of the family bought a __(adj)__ mini-van to carpool __(number)__ __(plural noun)__ to __(place)__ and back.

Now summer is over and I feel __(adj)__.
