Four years ago, I watched and read as my Kindergarten son's friend's mom was dying of cancer. Through her last half-year of life she blogged about her hope, fears, sadness, and ultimately her realization that this battle was not to end as she had originally planned.
She was 37 years old. Her daughter was only 6.
Laugh and cry as you read her blog, experience her pictures, and feel her touch you inside.
If you feel so moved, purchase her book. The one that wasn't published until two years after her death. The one she dreamed of publishing one day but never lived to see. All proceeds from the book will go towards her nine year old daughter. My son's friend.
(I normally do not get on blogging band-wagons and write about the same thing as others, but this call to action moved me because I knew her. I attended her funeral. I see her husband and daughter on a regular basis at my son's school.)
